– What did we do in 2017?

2017 was a very busy, productive year for our organization.  We developed numerous programs to educate and empower the patient community.  We attended some of the most prestigious world cancer conferences in order to bring you the latest research news – focusing on lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and several blood cancers (including multiple myeloma, acute leukemia, and lymphoma).  We attended the ASCO annual meeting in Chicago, the Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) in Madrid, and the ASH annual meeting in Atlanta. Our team recorded interviews with top oncologists and patient advocates that you can watch on Patient Power – our top partner in the production of content. We thank our sponsors AstraZeneca, Bayer, Roche, AbbVie, and Pfizer for making all this possible.

Did you know that we have developed a free online course in French for e-Patients in Switzerland? For this project (Conseils Patients), we collaborated with Intake.me, Debiopharm Group and our Board member Christine Bienvenu.  We also partnered with digital health leader HIMSS Europe who invited us to speak at the eHealth Week held in Malta last May. Christine Bienvenue’s session, “Working With, not For Patients”, attracted hundreds of stakeholders in the field of digital health.

We launched Precision Medicine For Me with a group of patient organizations, advocates, and supportive pharmaceutical industry leaders. The initiative aims to help ensure that all patients have access to next-generation tumor testing and the latest treatment options. In the initial phase, we are focused on lung cancer. Additional therapeutic areas will be addressed in the future. Indeed, a very busy 2017!

Finally, we invite you to subscribe to our newsletter (bottom left of our site) to keep up to date with our activities and to be informed about patient empowerment. Have a great and empowered 2018!
